What It Takes To Be An Essay Editor
What It Takes To Be An Essay EditorIn this article, we will look at what it takes to be an essay editor. You can expect a lot of changes when you begin working as an editor. You are going to need to make changes in order to meet the requirements for publication. The first thing that you need to be aware of is that no assignment is complete until it has been reviewed by an editor. Editors do not write everything and they can be ruthless. They will decide whether your assignment is suitable for publication or not.A good essay editor does not just accept and reject every assignment. Rather, they carefully review and analyze each assignment. An editor may only reject an assignment if there are serious problems with the assignment. For example, if your essay could have used better examples or your example sentences are badly structured, they will send it back to you. However, if you don't have the time to proofread the assignment, the editor will find the grammar errors and fix them for you . They will also notify you when they have made any major changes. If you are dealing with an editor who seems willing to help you, always keep a note of what you discussed with them. You may be able to find useful information if you keep notes of your meeting. By keeping notes, you can find out what was discussed and how they responded to your questions. The most important thing to remember when dealing with an editor is that you should treat your editor with respect. Remember that editors are employed by the journal for their own reasons. Treating them with disrespect will not endear you to them and this can lead to a more unpleasant relationship with them in the future. There is nothing wrong with having an open mind and understanding other people's experiences. By asking questions and understanding what different editors do not do, you will be prepared to become an excellent essay editor.

Essay on How to Bake Cookies and Doughnuts - 525 Words
How to Bake Cookies and Doughnuts Cookies and doughnuts are incredibly satisfying treats. They both are baked goods that make our tummies warm, and leave a dusting of sugar on our lips. Doughnuts, along with cookies, can be considered awfully sweet, yet they are completely different. They both are distinct in their individual means of ingredients, cooking and traditional settings for consumption. There are very few things you can do to ruin a simple chocolate chip cookie if you follow the recipe. The main ingredients for cookies include flour, sugar, water, eggs, and butter. These are all typically found in any kitchen. Because of this, cookies are relatively easy to prepare. Chocolate chips, nuts, and fruits are frequentâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦You then place the sheet into a conventional oven and bake at 375 degrees. The cookies will turn golden brown when theyre done. After being cooled for a few minutes, the cookies can be served. Unlike cookies, doughnuts usually are not made in the home, hence all of the doughnut shops: Krispy Kreme, Winchels, Daylight Doughnuts. Even though doughnuts are made with the same ingredients as cookies, they are more complicated to make. Doughnuts do contain another main ingredient, yeast. The yeast gives doughnuts a more bread-like quality and adds tiny air pockets that make the dough rise. After the dough has risen, it can be shaped into the familiar ring shape. This can be done by rolling the dough into snake-like portions. More commonly, the dough is spread thickly over a flat surface, then a device much like a multiple cookie cutter is used. The popular doughnut shop Krispy Kreme has developed a doughnut extrusion process that results in their distinctive rosette shape with curved vertical ridges on the sides. After the doughnut dough is shaped, it is cooked using hot oil or fat. This oil is at a much higher temperature than that used to bake cookies. The dough is then cooked to produce a golden-brown crust on the outside while s till maintaining a soft core. Toppings such as sugar may then be applied. This consists of little more than putting sugar and flavoring on the outside of the doughnut in the formShow MoreRelatedHow to Manage Diabetes789 Words à |à 3 PagesDISCUSSION 1) How does meat affect diabetes? a) Why should diabetics watch what meat they eat? How to Help Students not Running Out of Time - 619 Words
Although students have the potential to achieve satisfactory grades, they do not legitimately learn anything throughout their school career. Young people often forget what they have learned in school due to interference in memory. The failure to simply retrieve information from the brain also causes inattention in even the most intellectual students. Moreover, students need constant social relations with each other to flourish . No one has a craving to work in multiple, short class periods with pounds of homework to take care of later! School days should be extended two hours without homework assignments in order to successfully increase student productivity and efficiency. To begin, studies show that focusing on numerous ideas in brief time frames is not effective in retaining information. Evidence proves, however that focusing on a topic for two or more hours stabilizes waves of new information and can increase data retention. When adding a mere half-hour to each block in block sch eduling, having sufficient learning time is easily achievable. Because students are required to take a considerable amount of courses per term, about 79 percent must attend four to eight classes each day, according to most studies. While this cannot be helped, the duration of time spent in class can be altered. ââ¬Å"The time I have with my students is too little,â⬠said Kushner High Schoolââ¬â¢s Samantha Terry. ââ¬Å"Most of the students need time to understand each lesson, which makes it hard to move theShow MoreRelatedWhat Is Guided Reading?1690 Words à |à 7 Pagesin teaching reading to primary students? McCarthyism Vs Salem Witch Trials Essay Example For Students
McCarthyism Vs Salem Witch Trials Essay Over three hundred years ago in the town of Salem Massachusetts a problem was laid into our hands. A problem that will haunt our nation for years and years to come. When our nation was faced with a simillar problemit was almost taken the same as it was with the Salem Witch Trials. This problem was called McCarthyism. Many people feel that the Salem Witch Trials and McCarthyism was just about the same conspiracy, but more than two hundred and fifty years later. One day two girls and an Indian slave were caught dancing in a field, the two girls knew that they would get into trouble because the puritans didnt believe much in having fun. They knew that if they acted bewitched then it would save them a lot of trouble. So the girls started to go into convulsions, and act very weird. (Linder, Douglas. P1). This led part into something that is shunned upon in our nations history. This was the beginning of the Salem Witch Trials. In the late 1940s we found out that Russia had gotten the atomic bomb secret from two spies. This and other small things sparked the era of McCarthyism, the era many people would like to forget. Senator Joe McCarthy was a very talented man. He had ways of intimidating people very easy and very fast (Cook, Fred J p5). Senator Joe McCarthy knew how to work the public, and he knew that if he sparked up the communist issue with many people he would get his seat in the senate. This was another era in our nation that people would rather forget. This era ruined peoples lives and made them black listed from Hollywood forever. McCarthyism and The Salem Witch trials are very common for many reasons. They both started up because of the selfishness of others. If Joeseph McCarthy were not so selfish then the people that he accused would have had a job, and the would not have been shunned by the comminity. If the two girls were not so selfish then 19 people would have their lives back. This shows how McCarthyism and The Salem Witch Trials started off as somebody trying to get out of trouble, or somebody trying to get a higher seat in public but ended up as two of the most horribly looked upon events in American history. The Salem Witch Trials did not have a very good court system. As Mr. Larry Gragg explains the legal matters Governor Phips faced a legal dilemma The Massachusetts Bay colony had made the practice of witch craft a felony under the authority of a charter granted by Charles I in 1629. That document, however, had been revoked in 1686. Two years later, the colony became part of the Dominion of New England. Since the 1689 overthrow of Edmond Andros, the Dominion governor Massachusetts had existed in a legal limbo while its agents negotiated with William III for a new charter. Technically, then, no law against witchcraft existed. Governor Phips, who had arrived with a new charter, was unable to convene another provincial legislature to confirm the old statue until June 8. But he didnt want to wait that long so he appointed a special court of Oyer and Terminer (a judicial body to hear and determine) on May 27. He selected Deputy Governor William Stoughton and 8 leading merchants and landowners to serve on the court. They took various kinds of intangible evidence including direct confessions, supernatural attributes, and reactions of the afflicted girls were used (Dialogue Based on the Examination of Sara Good, by Judges Hawthorne and Corwin p5). .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 , .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 .postImageUrl , .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 , .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4:hover , .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4:visited , .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4:active { border:0!important; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4:active , .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4 .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u79deaca5088c8daab7046f4913fa67a4:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Deforestation Essay They decided to accept Specter Evidence That is if someone in the community said that the accused person let the devil use their shape. Spatial Data Acquisition Essays - Geographic Information System
Spatial Data Acquisition Spatial data acquisition and system modeling: notes from the field and the lab. Name of Lecturer: Philip Graniero Department of Lecture: Earth Sciences Date and Time of Lecture: January 13th, 2000 at 4:30pm Purpose of Research Project: The primary purpose of the project is to use model simulations to forecast spatial patterns among various species in the environment. By comparing current situations with test results, Graniero hopes to have the ability to predict spatial patterns for species in the environment. This will give environmentalists and scientists alike the ability to prevent specie disaster and to study such areas as future habitat. Description of Research/Technology used: Graniero's first step involved measuring the earth's topography, under the bedrock of the surface. This experiment took place in Newfoundland, Canada. To do this he took a random sampling scheme. These schemes were tested at a density of 40 points per hectare. In order to bring the most precise and comprehensive data to the table, such technologies as mobile computers and GPS systems were used. The field in which was being tested proved to be very difficult to measure due to the changing system and the high demand of physical resource. His objective still remained the same though, to take this data and run a model that would enable him forecast spatial data on various species. The model he used was known as Cellular Automation (CA). The models properties were as follows: a finite set of discrete states and a state transition rule where the next state is determined by; current cell state, states of the nearest neighbours, and the state of other layers. The model worked in specific steps. First, a spatial structure was built. Second, data was collected from it. Third, the simulation of different collection agencies were put forth. Fourth, the model information was compared to the behaviour of actual systems. Fifth, the model was repeated with random initial conditions. Thousands of trials were done at this point. This model is often referred to as a "virtual lab". When the information was taken at the conclusion of each test, it was sent to processing units where it was studied in the form of a grid. These grids were then used to study the spatial patterns of various species. Such future models will be more complex and more specific, thus showing species habitats and migratory trends. Adjusting the variables in the model can allow scientists to measure such activities as the population density of a species. Through the experiment there were three experiment sets. These included populations, disturbances, and resource mapping. The resource spatial structure also varied from uniform, smooth, and "patchy" environments (soil and forest types). Conclusion: This information is very valuable to environmentalists and society in general due to the fact that it "looks-out" for species that may be in danger and monitors the move from one territory to another over a given time frame. Allowing scientists to predict the habitat and density of species in given areas with such models keeps humans aware of the impact they may have. This helps protect the future of species and insures that humans don't interfere with its habitat as well. In conclusion, the model is very useful and as it grows and becomes more sophisticated it should prove to be a valuable resource to environmental scientists.

casablanca essays
casablanca essays In Casablanca, the prominent themes of unhappy love and self-sacrifice set this romantic melodrama apart from most in its genre. These themes are best expressed in the interactions of the three main characters: Victor Laszlo, a heroic political leader; Ilsa Lund, an enigmatic femme fatale; and Richard (Rick) Blaine, a seemingly morally ambiguous night club owner. An unusual love triangle forms with the two mens mutual love for the intermediary woman. Unlike the archetypal romantic triangle which includes the betrayed husband and the victorious lover, this situation results in unhappiness and loss for all involved. All three are willing to sacrifice for this love, regardless of the suffering that results from its pursuit. Victor is portrayed as an idealistic leader, whose unwavering devotion to his political cause is only challenged by his tremendous love for his wife. He is, in every respect, a virtuous human. In fact, his only possible short-coming seems to be his lack of romantic passion or intimacy with his wife. However, he suggests, in his own self-sacrificial offer, that Rick use the letters to take her away from Casablanca. Not only is Victor sacrificing his wife to another man, he is also giving up his only chance to escape from the almost certain death he faces in Casablanca. Victors courageous offer demonstrates the depth of his love for his wife. In the end, Victor must live unhappily with the knowledge that Ilsa is not truly his; she remains with him because of her love for another man. Ilsa is one of the most enigmatic figures in this story. She is torn between her passionate love for Rick and her vows of marriage to Victor. She is deluded by her confusing feelings for her husband. She loves him as a heroic father figure. Her inescapable love for Rick causes her to completely surrender her will to his judgment. She offers to willingly sacrifice herself to him in a lo...

Future of Cataloging, Resource Description, Indexing And Abstracting Essay
Future of Cataloging, Resource Description, Indexing And Abstracting - Essay Example The knowledge base comprises of information professionals who add their valuable info to pool up the system and for all this is for the achievement of a relatively better efficiency. The problem is how to acquire the relevant information or how to extract the required from the pool. This was once an issue in the past as record searching was very tedious and at times it took days for individuals to come up with the adequate set of retrievals. This was aided by the term ââ¬ËCatalogingââ¬â¢. Cataloging meant giving an appropriate identification of the item from where it can be easily retrieved. Cataloging can easily be understood if we take into account a library containing many books and journals and you step inside to search for data on economic facts in the World War II era. To get this information you needed to approach the librarian who will present you a book that is compiled of many abstracts from the various books that contain information about the desired World War II facts. This item is called as the catalog and it contains the description of the different books or journals referring to your search. From this catalog you can filter out your choices easily and as there is adequate resource description you could also go for different writer choices. Thus once decided which to choose, you look down at the catalog to find the location of the desired information tool (Book/journal). Thus the catalog acts as a fa ir assistant to you in minimizing your search time and effectively grants you the opportunity to identify your needs well. Cataloging has facilitated searching immensely. An important terminology within the catalog is the resource description. The catalog contains every bit of information required about the resource and therefore again is regarded as an effective tool for information handling purpose.
